Superstorm Sandy

On October 22nd, 2012, a storm named Sandy formed in the southern Caribbean sea and started on a wake of destruction through the islands of Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba before turning its rage on to the coasts of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.  Within days, Sandy morphed into a Superstorm, carrying wind spans of over 1000 miles and a powerful surge aided by the force of a full moon.
